On Thursday, December 25, LE SSERAFIM performed at the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival. The K-pop girl group's setlist consisted of an intro followed by the performance of their recent comeback title track, SPAGHETTI, and for the year-end annual event, LE SSERAFIM also brought in the drag queens that were featured in the song's official music video onto the stage towards the end.

The three drag queens, NANA Youngrong Kim, Ring Ring, and KYAM, performed the last part of SPAGHETTI's choreography alongside the LE SSERAFIM members. Additionally, the maknae, Eunchae, and the drag queen, NANA Youngrong Kim, rolled out the ending fair with a hand heart symbol. Following the performance, when SBS uploaded the stage on their YouTube channel, the drag queen was reportedly cropped out from the thumbnail.

SBS used the ending fairy shot, where both Eunchae and NANA were showcased in the frame. However, for the thumbnail, SBS chose to crop out the drag queen and only showcase Eunchae, thereby angering several fans and netizens. Several people highlighted the alleged homophobic actions displayed by SBS while choosing to crop out the drag queen for the thumbnail when the drag queens were an important part of the performance and song's official music video.

Additionally, fans also expressed how the action was disrespectful to the drag queens since SBS could've chosen another frame for the thumbnail, but they chose edit out the ending fairly, which led to allegations of SBS showcasing hatred or negligence of the drag queens. Many also pointed out the importance of their inclusion in the drag queens for the better representation and exposure of the LGBTQ community, thereby stating the offensive actions from SBS.

Here are a few fan reactions regarding the same:

"this is so disrespectful and disgusting wth" said a fan

this is so disrespectful and disgusting wth

More fans and netizens expressed their reactions to SBS's alleged erasure of the drag queens from the thumbnail of LE SSERAFIM's SPAGHETTI performance at the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon stage.

sbs at the scene of the crime again. may queerness in the k-pop industry only continue to get more and more visible until it becomes impossible to erase it.

everybody’s having fun then here comes south korea broadcasting acting like its 1935

Choosing this shot and cropping her out feels intentionally homophobic especially after they censored xlov's lyrics and choreo. It's disgusting to say the least.

TF!? SBS. You let them perform on your stage - you approved their performance. If you didn't approve, then why let them perform just to erase their faces afterward? And the edit is just half-a*sed: you can still see the Queen's hair and their heart sign with Eunchae. COWARDS!

Others also shared their thoughts and opinions regarding the same.

just knew that mf SBS erased the drag queen's face out of the thumbnail, this is why le sserafim consistently wants to give visibility to the community and pay homage to them

this is why that nonsense going around earlier p*sses me off so much. queer people dont need to give you a warning or fit a concept to exist and occupy spaces and, as long as we keep (quite literally) being erased, shining a spotlight on the community will always be necessary

Not surprised at all but like why didn’t they just choose a different pic? Seems they did this on purpose to cause discourse smh

like they could have chosen any other moment but they used a moment in which they could specifically erase the queen to make a point think about that
