Ferrari star Lewis Hamilton equaled Michael Schumacher's championship record after winning the 2020 title. The Briton was involved in a tight battle with Max Verstappen for the 2021 title when the controversial safety car call at Abu Dhabi changed things around. McLaren CEO Zak Brown recently came out and claimed that Hamilton should already be an eight-time champion.

Lewis Hamilton has had multiple close calls with the title during his career, including the 2007 season, where he lost by a point, 2010, when it was a four-driver battle to the title at the last race, 2016 battle with Nico Rosberg, and the 2021 title battle with Max Verstappen.

However, only the 2021 title ended with controversy as a late safety car was deployed by the stewards at Abu Dhabi, and it was restarted with one lap to go. While the incident happened four years ago, it's still being debated among the fans.

Amid this, McLaren CEO Zak Brown was questioned whether Hamilton has still got it to win the eighth title. The McLaren Boss responded,

“He actually should have been already.”

Fans took to the social media platform X and reacted to Brown's statement about Lewis Hamilton's eighth title.

It's just a shame they aren't/weren't to speak up freely against the decision to the current FIA regime without the fear of the consequences.” “Zak just earned my respect,” wrote a user on X

Some fans suggested that AD21 continues to be a topic of debate among the fans.

“'He shouldve had it already’ is the most politely traumatized way of saying 2021 still lives rent free,” commented a user
