Team India opener Smriti Mandhana celebrated her haldi ceremony with teammates ahead of her wedding. The star cricketer is set to tie the knot soon with fiancée Palash Muchhal, who is a music composer and film-maker.
Ahead of the wedding, Smriti Mandhana was seen celebrating her haldi ceremony with her Indian teammates. Haldi is a prewedding ritual common at traditional Indian weddings, which is celebrated close to the wedding day. It is often celebrated with music and dancing.
That said, Smriti's teammates Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh, Shreyanka Patil, and Richa Ghosh could also be seen dancing to drum beats alongside her family members at her house. Notably, Smriti was also seen dancing with everyone as they were enjoying themselves. All of them were dressed in yellow according to the theme.

The Indian team won the Women's World Cup 2025 earlier this month. They beat South Africa in the final by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Therefore, Palash Muchhal planned an adorable proposal for Smriti Mandhana at the same historic venue. He uploaded the video of the same on his Instagram handle.
Smriti Mandhana was India's leading run-getter at the World Cup 2025
Smriti Mandhana played a massive role in helping India win their first-ever ICC trophy in Women's cricket. She was the leading run-scorer for the Women in Blue. The left-hander scored 434 runs from nine games, averaging 54.25 with a hundred and two half-centuries. In fact, she ended as the second-highest run-getter overall behind South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt.
Smriti made vital contributions. In a must-win clash against New Zealand in the group stage, she struck a solid century, making 109 runs off 95 balls with 10 boundaries and four sixes. In the final as well, she made a crucial 45 of 58 balls.
Notably, India had played the ODI World Cup final twice before in 2005 and 2017. Unfortunately, they had failed to cross the line both times. Playing at home this time around, they scripted history and ended the wait for an ICC title.
