Full Swing executive breaks silence on Ian Poulter’s famous locker room meltdown

Full Swing executive producer Chad Munn opened up about the popular Ian Poulter moment from the series in his recent interview. The first season of the Netflix series features the English golfer, and one of the scenes caught the people's attention, in which Poulter was seen throwing his clubs in the locker room.

On this week’s episode of The Skratch, uploaded on YouTube on Nov. 19, Chad Munn opened up about the series and also about the popular Ian Poulter scene. He said that it was filmed after the LIV golfer lost his match-play event, and then the camera followed him into the locker room, where he slammed his clubs. He said:

"So that scene, which was in the trailer… it's match play, and we're filming with Ian. Yeah. And so he's in the locker room, and he loses his match — I think it was like he lost a semifinal match or something like that. So the cameras are following him. He's in the locker room, he's steaming, and he throws the club in the locker, tips over his bag, screaming. "

Munn further added that Poulter knew "what he was doing." He added:

"We're like, 'Oh my god, we got it, you know, blah blah blah.' He's smashing stuff up, just, 'Oh **,' yelling really loud. And he then just finishes, and we didn't tell him to do it, but he just immediately does all this, and then he looks into the camera and goes, 'How was that?' We were like, 'Yeah, that was good.' He knew what he was doing."

Full Swing’s first season aired in 2023, and it featured some big names, including Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Dustin Johnson, among others.

The first season had eight episodes, followed by the second season, which aired in 2024 and also had eight episodes. The third season was released earlier this year in February, and it only had seven episodes.

Ian Poulter spends time watching an NBA game

Ian Poulter these days is enjoying some time away from the field. The LIV Golf 2025 season wrapped with its finale in August, and while there is time before the start of the new season, the English golfer is making the most of his break and spending time with his family.

On Thursday, he shared a picture of an NBA game between the Orlando Magic and the L.A. Clippers on his Instagram account.

“Let’s go @orlandomagic cruising against the Clippers tonight,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, this season on LIV Golf, Ian Poulter had started his campaign with a T30 finish at the Riyadh event. He then settled in T31 at the Adelaide event, and some of his notable finishes are T13 at the Korea event and T17 in Indianapolis.
