Sky’s Angel Reese on verge of being suspended by WNBA

Angel Reese is playing with fire.

The Chicago Fire second-year star is one misdeed away from a WNBA suspension.

On Tuesday night, Reese picked up her seventh technical foul of the season. On eight technicals, a player is given an automatic one-game suspension.

This Reese technical came in a 23-point blowout loss to the league-leading Lynx.

Reese did continue her double-double streak, putting up 11 points and 11 rebounds.

But she also had a ghastly nine turnovers.

Still, Reese has shown great improvement in general in her second year in the WNBA. She has grown as a playmaker in her ability to involve teammates.

The Sky are just 7-16 after the loss, so the playoff picture appears far away.

More than that, keeping Reese on the floor and not suspended at this point will be about development. The more she can play, the better she can get.

The Sky have their frontcourt of the future with Reese and center Kamilla Cardoso. They need to give them as much time together as possible, and down the road, the backcourt can come along and improve.

Reese more likely than not will get another tech and the suspension that comes with it, but it's worth knowing that it's coming. Maybe it'll shift her responses to tough situations on the court just a tad.
