India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty visited Sri Venkateshwara Temple in Tirupati on Tuesday, December 30. The couple offered prayers at the religious site to get blessings ahead of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand in January 2026.

In a video shared by PTI, Yadav and Devisha could be seen surrounded by the fans, with one of them requesting the cricketer to look at the camera. The couple donned ethnic attire, with Yadav opting for a pink kurta while Devisha wore a yellow sari.

“Sir, thoda camera dekho,” a fan requested.

Sharing the video on X, the news agency captioned the post:

“Andhra Pradesh: Cricketer Suryakumar Yadav (@surya_14kumar), along with his wife Devisha Shetty, offers prayers at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Tirumala, Tirupati, on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadashi.”

Take a look below:

The popular Hindu festival falls between December and January every 12 months. People come to the Tirupati temple from various places across the country to seek blessings for peace, prosperity, and positivity from different avatars of lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi in Tirupati every year.

All eyes on Suryakumar Yadav ahead of 2026 T20 World Cup

All eyes will be on skipper Suryakumar Yadav as he’ll look to deliver with the bat in the T20I series against the Kiwis ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old had a poor calendar year, managing just 218 runs in 21 T20Is (19 innings) in 2025 without a half-century. The right-handed batter averaged 13.63 while his strike rate was 123.16. He scored his last fifty 22 innings ago.

However, Suryakumar Yadav is on a winning spree as captain in the shortest format. Under his leadership, India won their sixth bilateral T20I series. The Men in Blue have beaten Sri Lanka (3-0), Bangladesh (3-0), South Africa (3-1), England (4-1), Australia (2-1), and South Africa (3-1). Apart from the above, Yadav also led India to victory in the 2025 Asia Cup. He will now look to continue his 100 percent series-winning record ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, where India will aim to defend their title at home.
