“Simple... hard discipline”: Cardi B praises disciplined Stefon Diggs in Patriots win

2 hours ago 3

The New England Patriots defeated the Denver Broncos 10-7 to claim the AFC Championship amid freezing temperatures.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs advanced to his first Super Bowl following the gritty victory, prompting an emotional celebration from his girlfriend, Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B, in the owner's suite. The haymaker came on kicker Andy Borregales’ 23-yard field goal in the third quarter, a 23-yard dart through the falling snow that provided the ultimate margin of victory. While the snowfall in Denver created a difficult environment for the players and the fans in attendance, the Patriots secured their 12th Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.

Overall, the Patriots offense relied on a punishing 16-play drive – consuming nine minutes and 53 seconds of the clock – effectively grounding a Broncos attack that struggled to find rhythm in the adverse conditions. Diggs recorded five receptions for 17 yards during the low-scoring affair. Quarterback Drake Maye served as the statistical engine of the team during the game in Denver. Maye finished with 65 rushing yards and scored the only touchdown for the Patriots, navigating the snow with precision.

Stefon Diggs mutually parted ways with the Houston Texans after a one-year stint in 2025. However, it appears that his decision to sign a three-year contract with New England in March has paid dividends. The victory represents the first Super Bowl trip for Diggs in his career, vindication after he previously lost conference championship games while playing for the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills.

Cardi B shared her feelings about watching Stefon Diggs

Cardi B was one of the thousands of Patriots fans who were tuned in for what became Diggs' first conference championship victory after multiple attempts. Apart from being a featured presence on the official Patriots Instagram account, the Grammy-winner’s appearance in the owner's suite marked another high-profile show of support now that the team has officially advanced. Over the past several months, the rapper has stood by Diggs' side as the veteran receiver navigated through a difficult recovery period following an ACL injury.

She shared her feelings with NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe after the win. The rapper described the pride she felt watching the receiver return from his injury, saying:

"I'm feeling very excited, I'm very happy for him, very proud of him,” Cardi B said. “He just came back from an ACL, and me seeing the progress and the process of him going through there, from the first time he started running back."

Cardi B attributed the success of Diggs to his personal discipline and work ethic. There is no more disciplined athlete, maybe in the current locker room of the Patriots, than Stefon Diggs. She said:

"Discipline. Discipline and work. It's not like, oh, you wake up and you great. It's... it's discipline. It's going to bed early. It's go... waking up early. It's... it's not missing one day of work, nothing. It's discipline. Simple... hard discipline."

The rapper confirmed her relationship with Diggs in June and gave birth to their son in November, since becoming a regular at games. Wolfe mentioned that Diggs helped Cardi B transition into being a fan of the sport, referring to the rapper as a member of the "brigade" of Patriots supporters. She wore a Patriots cap and had green hair while attending the game in Denver. She said:

"Not at all. I mean, I'm a... I'm a big baseball fan. I'm a Red Sox fan. Everybody knows I'm a Red Sox fan. So... it's kind of cool that we keeping it... in New England."

New England will face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 on Jan. 25. The Seahawks advanced after winning the NFC Championship game on the same day. Diggs was emotional after the victory and noted the team had more work to finish.
