Team India's batting star Shreyas Iyer got angry at a security personnel who forcefully clicked pictures with him. In a video surfaced on social media, the right-handed batter was seen expressing his discontent with the security personnel, saying that his job is to help him walk freely .

Iyer hasn't played for the national team since the third ODI against Australia last month at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The match saw him suffer a rib injury after taking an outstanding catch to send back Alex Carey. Nevertheless, the Mumbai-born cricketer injured his rib and went off the field immediately. The latest update on Iyer was that he had sustained internal bleeding but it was brought under control after a minor procedure. As a result, the 30-year-old's recovery is panning out well.

Several reports have claimed that the prolific right-handed batter is unlikely to be fully fit for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, beginning on November 30.

Meanwhile, the star cricketer is one of the 21 players retained by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, which will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. The Punjab-based franchise, captained by the Mumbai-born cricketer, were the runners-up in IPL 2025, suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Nevertheless, the skipper had an outstanding tournament with the bat, finishing as their highest run-getter with 604 runs in 17 matches at 50.33 while keeping a strike rate of 175.07. However, the skipper managed only one run in the final, as PBKS couldn't chase down 191.
