Marcus Mariota is set to start for the Washington Commanders in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season. The capital team might have lost Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season after the second-year quarterback suffered a dislocated elbow against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Mariota participated in five games this season, filling in for Daniels. As the team assesses their starting quarterback's situation, Mariota prepares to face a dangerous defense. The Detroit Lions have unfinished business with the Commanders, the team that stopped their 2024 playoff run even before it started.

The Lions (5-3) aren't as strong as last season, but they are on a positive trajectory. They have extra motivation after Daniels took them out of the playoffs with an upset win in the divisional round.

Jared Goff made it clear they want to get revenge on the Commanders and bounce back after losing to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.

"That's definitely a part of it, absolutely. I think more than that, we want to get off of a losing streak here and get a W," he said. "Certainly, you're thinking about that, but I think it's nine games ago now. "So yeah, we're trying to get a win this year and maybe use that as a little added motivation if we need it."

Mariota is projected to score 15.2 fantasy points this week, per Sportskeeda's fantasy analyzer. That's just 2.8 points less than Goff, one of the most reliable quarterbacks in fantasy football.

Should you start Marcus Mariota in fantasy football Week 10?

Considering that many leagues will enter the final stretch of the regular season, this needs to be thoroughly thought out. If no other option is available, perhaps going with Marcus Mariota wouldn't hurt. However, he is more of a QB3 with a QB2 ceiling under certain circumstances.

Those 15.2 fantasy points could be of great help for many teams, but at this point in the season, considering that he's going against a strong defense, managers would be better off keeping him on the bench, unless something extraordinary happens.
