Should Cleveland Browns’ Cedric Tillman be started in fantasy leagues?

The Cleveland Browns have dealt with offensive woes throughout the 2024 season, but wide receiver Cedric Tillman has been a bright spot.

Despite playing for the team with the fourth-fewest points per game (16.4), Tillman has broken out in his second year as an NFL wideout. Tillman is second on the Browns in receiving with 264 yards, and he’s caught three touchdown passes.

Almost all of Tillman’s production has come recently, too.

After being held below two fantasy points in the first six weeks of the 2024 season, Tillman broke out with 18.10 points (PPR scoring) against the Bengals in Week 7. Tillman combined for 48 points in the Browns’ next two games before their Week-10 bye week.

Will Tillman keep producing like this?

With how inept the Browns’ offense has been at times this year, it’s hard to say with 100% certainty that Tillman will continue playing like a WR1. But his last game should give fantasy managers hope.

Cleveland lost 27-10 to the Chargers in its last game. That was Jameis Winston’s worst game of the year, as the journeyman signal caller threw three picks and logged just 235 passing yards.

But Tillman still shined, catching six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Even in the Browns’ worst games, it appears that Tillman will still be a reliable play. In this week’s game against a struggling New Orleans Saints squad, Tillman is projected to log 11.40 fantasy points.

At worst, Tillman is an excellent play in the flex spot. It’s very possible that he could surpass his projection if he finds the end zone again, too.
