"Should be arrested for assault," "Thug behavior": NFL fans rip DK Metcalf for punching Lions fan during Steelers game

DK Metcalf may have created a major headache for the Pittsburgh Steelers and potentially for himself after a shocking moment during Week 16 game vs. the Detroit Lions. During the first half, Metcalf was caught on video exchanging words with a fan in the stands before throwing a closed-fist punch to the fan’s face and casually walking away.

The clip immediately went viral with over one million views currently. It left NFL fans furious and they ripped the Steelers WR in the comments section. One fan said,

"DK Metcalf just casually assaulting a fan. Still in the game BTW. Your move @NFLOfficiating. That’s a suspension and a lawsuit waiting to happen."

Another said, "DK Metcalf in an @NFL game after assaulting a fan is crazy." One X user tweeted, "DK Metcalf punched a Lions fan.... I swear I hate being a Steelers fan lmao. You make $30million a fucking year, it's almost playoff time, why the fuck are you punching a fan?? Thug behavior." "DK Metcalf should be arrested for assault," tweeted another. One more fan said, "Official statement: DK Metcalf is no longer a Greg’s guy. This is not what we preach and is the exact opposite of the culture we’ve built here. Plain and simple. This is unacceptable behavior." "DK Metcalf absolutely has to be suspended for Punching the #Lions Fan. Very Unwelcome Behavior and he has a history with Bad Abger," commented another.

Despite the outrage, no flag was thrown. Rule expert Gene Steratore explained on CBS that officials couldn’t penalize the play because it happened off the field and out of their view. However, he confirmed the incident would be forwarded to the league office.
