Shocking Maxx Crosby trade report is great news for Bengals

1 hour ago 2

The NFL world was thrown for a loop on Tuesday night when ESPN’s Adam Schefter released a shocking report involving the Baltimore Ravens and five-time Pro Bowl Defensive end Maxx Crosby.

According to Schefter, a previously reported trade involving the two parties is now off the table.

“(Las Vegas) Raiders full statement: “The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby,” Schefter shared on X/Twitter. “We will have no further comment at this time.”

Shortly after Schefter’s report, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini revealed the real reason the Ravens aren’t sending a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick to the Raiders for Crosby.

“Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources,” Russini stated on X/Twitter. “The Ravens get their first-round picks back.”

With the Cincinnati Bengals being among the franchises interested in trading for Crosby this offseason, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, it’s safe to say that a potential deal is no longer out of the realm of possibility.

As Breer noted, it’s likely the Bengals will lose star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson in free agency, forcing them to bolster their pass-rushing attempt by finding a potential replacement for the five-time Pro Bowler.

Crosby is now back in the picture, which should motivate the franchise to re-enter the sweepstakes for the Eastern Michigan product’s services. Simply put, the Ravens’ unsuccessful trade for Crosby will give Cincinnati new life on the defensive trade market.
