Shivam Dube took a one-handed catch to dismiss Reeza Hendricks in the fifth T20I between India and South Africa in Ahmedabad on Friday, December 19. As a result, Varun Chakaravarthy provided the first breakthrough for the Men in Blue, breaking a 69-run stand between Hendricks and Quinton de Kock for the opening wicket. The former perished for 13 runs off 12 balls.
The dismissal came in the first over after the power play. Varun bowled a short delivery on the stumps, and Reeza flicked it uppishly inside the 30-yard circle with no control. Dube kept his eyes on the ball and stretched his hand full length to complete a one-handed catch at the last minute.

Earlier, Shivam Dube provided India a strong finish by playing a cameo of 10 runs off three balls. On the contrary, Reeza Hendricks continued his poor run with the bat, perishing for 0 and 8 in the five-match series.

Varun Chakaravarthy provided a timely dismissal after Quinton de Kock gave the Proteas a stunning start in the fifth T20I.
At the time of writing, South Africa were 94/1 after 8.4 overs, with de Kock (61 off 33) and Dewald Brevis (9 off 7) at the crease.
Asked to bat first, the Men in Blue posted 231/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma provided a flying start, scoring 37 (22) and 34 (21), respectively. Tilak Varma top-scored with 73 off 42 deliveries, hitting one maximum and 10 fours. Hardik Pandya also went all guns blazing with 63 off 25 balls, including five sixes and as many boundaries. The duo shared a 105-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
On the contrary, Skipper Suryakumar departed for another low score. Corbin Bosch emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the tourists, picking up two wickets, but he leaked 44 in his three overs.
A win would help the hosts clinch the T20I series 3-1. They won the first and third T20Is by 101 runs and seven wickets. On the other hand, the Aiden Markram-led side are playing a must-win game, having won their only game by 51 runs in the second T20I. Notably, the fourth T20I was abandoned due to fog.
