Paige Bueckers is playing a major role in trade and free agency decisons for the Dallas Wings. On Friday, Wings general manager Curt Miller revealed that Bueckers has been involved in the decisions Dallas makes regarding the picks and players.

Miller made the revelation on Khristina Williams' "In Case You Missed It" podcast. He told Williams that Buckers opinions have been considered in making some important decisions.

"I leaned on Paige. As we are building this, one of the things she showed incredible maturity about was the desire to talk about the future," Miller said. "We would talk about roster constructions, we would talk about trades, we are talking about free agency, we are talking about draft."

Later, Miller revealed that Paige Bueckers had advised him not to give away a first-round draft pick under any circumstances.

A fan shared a clip of Miller discussing Bueckers' involvement in the front office's decisions on X, and the fans flooded the comments section with their opinions.

"Also she wants azzi bad BAHAHAHHAAH," one fan said. "PAIGEGM WE’RE SO HERE," another fan said. "She hated the family gimmick more than her fans 😭✌🏽" another fan said. "Oh she really runs the f**k out of this organization," another fan said.

One fan asked Miller not to reveal the franchise's secrets.

"yo chilllll he’s out here publicly revealing her strategies omg😭😭😭," the fan commented.

The Dallas Wings won the first overall pick in next year's draft during the 2026 WNBA lottery held on Nov. 23.

Paige Bueckers opens up about the Dallas Wings winning the first pick in draft lottery

The Wings have won the right to choose the first player to be drafted from the 2026 draft class. Dallas had won the lottery last year well, and chose Paige Bueckers as the first pick in the 2025 draft.

However, despite Paige Bueckers' incredible Rookie of the Year award-winning season, the Wings (10-34) finished the season in 13th place. On Saturday, Bueckers spoke with Meghan L. Hall of "For the Win" and expressed her thoughts on the Wings choosing first again next year.

"Just a lot of excitement. Obviously, as a team and an organization, you don't wanna continue to keep getting number one picks because that means you're not winning," Buckers said. "We want this to be a stride in the right direction and continue to keep getting better, have a great first pick, and then just continue to build off that. As good as it sounds, you don't want to keep mounting No. 1 picks. It's just exciting for the future."

Paige Bueckers proved herself as the best rookie last season. She carried the Wings in many games, proving her worth as the first pick. She averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in her first season.
