'She didn't rob a bank': Jordon Hudson's 'ban' from UNC earns incredulous reaction from reporter

Reports surfaced that Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had been banned from the North Carolina facilities. In turn, that report was shot down, and North Carolina went on to issue a statement saying Hudson does not work for the school or the program in any capacity.

It has been quite the scene in Chapel Hill as Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend have been entrenched in headlines for the past few months, and not necessarily for football reasons.

Well, Rece Davis and Pete Thamel spent some time discussing Belichick during the College GameDay podcast, and Thamel had a strong reaction to the Hudson drama.

“I think she’s going to resume a role as a coach’s significant other, and that’s completely fine,” Thamel said. “The ‘banned’ from the facility thing made me laugh because it was reported as specifically ‘banned’ from the facility. And I saw it that morning, and I was just like, ‘That’s not true.’ She didn’t rob a bank. Some of what’s been reported, the hyperbole of it, got a lot of the headlines. ‘He won’t come back,’ the ban from the facility, and they just weren’t true."

Thamel put it perfectly: Hudson did not rob a bank. Furthermore, she doesn't have any employment status with North Carolina, so banning her from the facilities seemed to be a surprising turn of events.

On Friday, Belichick spoke to Michael Strahan on Good Morning America and he explained Hudson's involvement

"She's been terrific through the whole process and she's been very helpful to me. She does the business things that don't relate to North Carolina that come up in my life so I can concentrate on football and that's really what I want to do."

The initial report of Hudson being banned came from Pablo Torre, but Thamel said from the get-go he didn't believe it was true.
