Macklin Celebrini was already taking the hockey world by storm as a 19-year old for the San Jose Sharks.
And then he led the Winter Olympics in goals for Team Canada.
The only negative for Celebrini is that he came home with a silver medal, not a gold.
That won't stop him from hurtling toward a record-setting contract extension with the San Jose Sharks as soon as he's eligible.

Jeffery Ade of Heavy Hockey Network laid it out in a couple of posts on X on Monday.
The starting point is that Celebrini is making $975,000 on his entry-level contract, both this year and next year.
He's eligible for an extension on July 1, 2026, and it's safe to say the Sharks won't wait long to give him one.
At that point, it's all about how much Celebrini increases from his entry-level contract to his extension price.
Connor McDavid increased $11.575 million from his entry-level contract to his first extension.
That means Celebrini essentially needs an increase of $11.6 million on his extension to set a new record in that category.
Seems like a given, doesn't it?

Technically, the Sharks still will have some negotiating power when Celebrini first becomes eligible, but it doesn't do them any good to play hardball.
There's a chance Celebrini blows this record out of the water. He's the future face of the NHL. Almost no price would be too high.
Celebrini likely has other records in his future, too, but this would be a good place to start.
