Shaquille O'Neal shares conspiracy theory about Blue Origin space flight with Katy Perry

Shaquille O'Neal is a basketball legend, so when he speaks on the game or the NBA as a whole, people listen. O'Neal isn't afraid to share his opinion on a myriad of other topics, though, and the latest non-basketball subject he weighed in on was the Blue Origin space flight that took place on April 14, 2025.

This flight to space was Blue Origin's 11th human spaceflight, and it featured an all-female six-person crew. Among the crew members was superstar musician Katy Perry, with Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Gayle King, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sanchez joining her on the ship.

There's been a lot of chatter surrounding this group's flight to space, as some folks believe that it was fake and it didn't actually happen. O'Neal is a part of that crew, as he believed that Perry's hair looked too good for someone who had just made a voyage to space.

"Their hair was (expletive) luxurious in space. Didn't move a (expletive) bit," O'Neal said on "The Big Podcast." "Katy Perry's hair didn't move, Lauren's hair didn't move, nobody's hair moved."

Was Perry's voyage to space real? Nobody can know for sure, but O'Neal certainly seems convinced that it did not take place, and his reason is quite eye-opening. However, it's tough to totally discredit this space journey because the crew members' hair looked good.

Conspiracy theories aside, O'Neal will be focused on the 2025 NBA Playoffs, as he continues to keep close tabs on the action as part of the "Inside The NBA" crew. On Thursday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder will look to eliminate the Denver Nuggets in Game 6, with tip-off scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
