After playing an important role in helping his team win the AL East for the first time since 2015, Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk has continued to show his quality in the postseason. In the World Series against the LA Dodgers, Kirk has been swinging a hot bat, hitting two home runs and recording a total of six RBIs in the five games that have taken place so far.

While the 26-year-old has been hard at work on the field, his wife, Sofia Castaneda, has regularly made the trip to the ballpark to cheer for him from the bleachers, be it at home at the Rogers Centre or on the road at Dodger Stadium.

On Friday, she took to Instagram to post a series of snaps from her time watching Game 5, which took place on Wednesday.

Having been acquired by the Blue Jays ahead of the trade deadline, Shane Bieber has shared the clubhouse with Alejandro Kirk for only half a season. However, the pair appear to be fast friends.

Looking at their wives' interaction on social media, it appears a similar bond also exists between Kara Bieber and Sofia Castaneda off the field.

After beginning the World Series with a bang, the Blue Jays found themselves trailing the Dodgers 2-1 after losing Games Two and Three. As they headed into Game 4 attempting to bring the series back to level terms on Tuesday, Shane Bieber took the mound.

The AL East champions eventually went on to achieve their goal, winning the game 6-2. Shane Bieber pitched 5.1 innings, giving up a single earned run and striking out three.

Soon after the game ended, Shane's wife, Kara, took to Instagram to celebrate the hugely important win.

As it turned out, things got even better for Toronto in Game 5, as they won 6-1, courtesy of an incredible performance from rookie Trey Yesavage.

After taking two from three in LA, the Blue Jays now head back home, one win away from their first World Series championship of the 21st century.
