And here's a breakdown of each Gilgeous-Alexander performance in a Game 7:
2020 First Round, Thunder vs. Rockets
Gilgeous-Alexander's first career Game 7 came in his first season with the Thunder following a trade from the Clippers.
With a veteran group around him, including Chris Paul, Steven Adams and Danilo Gallinari, Gilgeous-Alexander went for 19 points in Game 7 of the first round against the Rockets. Long before he had become an MVP, the guard had averaged 19.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in the regular season.
However, a James Harden-Russell Westbrook-led Rockets unit was too much for Oklahoma City in the bubble. Houston escaped with a 104-102 win in Game 7 of the first round, with Westbrook dropping 20 points.
2025 Second Round, Thunder vs. Nuggets
By 2025, Gilgeous-Alexander was much more of a proven superstar. He guided Oklahoma City back to the playoffs in 2023-24 before a second-round exit, then in 2024-25, fully broke out by winning MVP on a 68-win team.
Still, the Thunder had their hands full with Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in the second round. It took a full seven games for Oklahoma City to best Denver, which won a title just two seasons prior.
Gilgeous-Alexander was excellent in Game 7 at home, dropping 35 points, four assists and three steals, and the Thunder claimed a massive win with a final score of 125-93.
2025 NBA Finals, Thunder vs. Pacers
In order to win his first championship, Gilgeous-Alexander had to go the full distance against Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers in the 2025 Finals.
With Haliburton's clutch efforts and Indiana's depth giving the Thunder a run for their money, the series went to a Game 7 in Oklahoma City. And in front of the home fans, the Thunder didn't disappoint — although Haliburton's Achilles tear in the game left the Pacers' offense struggling.
Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 29 points and 12 assists in a 103-91 Thunder win, and they hoisted the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
