Sergio Garcia has committed to a “multi-year” future with LIV Golf, confirming he will continue competing on the Saudi-backed circuit beyond 2025. The Spanish star, who joined LIV at its inception in 2022, also revealed changes to his Fireballs GC roster including the return of Luis Masaveu who replaces Abraham Ancer.
Garcia’s Fireballs squad now features an all-Spanish lineup for the first time, with the former Masters champion serving as captain alongside David Puig, Jose Ballester and Masaveu. The move comes after Ancer shifted to Torque GC joining Joaquin Niemann following Mito Pereira’s relegation.
"Returning to Fireballs GC and LIV Golf reinforces everything we are building,” Garcia said. “With David and Josele playing well in 2025 and Luis joining the team for 2026, our identity and competitive edge are stronger than ever, rooted in pride, purpose, and our collective emotional connection to the game of golf. LIV Golf continues to set the pace globally, and I’m committed to leading this group as we push forward and keep raising the standard.” (via Golf Monthly)Sergio Garcia has signed a multi year extension to his LIV Golf contract as captain of Fireballs GC. He has also replaced the outgoing Abraham Ancer with Luis Masaveu who played half of the season in 2025 before Josele Ballester joined the league. Fireballs now become the first
Sergio Garcia has claimed two wins on the circuit including a 2024 victory in Spain. In 2025, he finished ninth in the LIV Golf standings after securing his second title in Hong Kong.
His Fireballs GC team also enjoyed a strong season, finishing third in the regular-season standings with a three-tournament winning streak in Adelaide, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Sergio Garcia is excited about the all-Spanish Fireballs GC team for 2026
Sergio Garcia is looking forward to leading an all-Spanish Fireballs GC team next season, combining his experience with young talent.
“My goal has always been, if possible, to have four Spanish players on it. To have three other Spanish players that are up-and-comers with great potential, young guys, guys that can not only play now but for the future, and to be able to achieve that coming into the 2026 season is something very exciting,” Garcia said. He added, “I'm super excited about re-signing with LIV and my team for the next four years. I'm looking forward to working hard, not only individually but as a team, and keep building on that and hopefully many more successful weeks.”The all-Spanish lineup could also give Fireballs GC an edge at LIV Golf Andalucía. Just like the strong support at LIV Golf Adelaide earlier this year, Sergio Garcia and his team can expect a passionate home crowd in Spain.
