The Ottawa Senators can't be happy about this at all.
Jake Sanderson took a brutal hit to the head from Carolina Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall during their playoff game on Thursday night. And now the injury news for Sanderson isn't good.
The Senators confirmed Friday that Sanderson won't be available for Game 4.
"He's not doing very well," head coach Travis Green told reporters.
Sanderson has been confirmed to have a concussion.
It's no wonder that Sanderson is hurting -- look at this hit from Hall:

But there is a line on plays like this one, and that appears to be right up against it or crossing it, depending on which fanbase you're a part of.
What's clear is that Sanderson wasn't doing anything egregious in this moment yet was dealt with a big hit to the head anyway.
Now, Ottawa has to navigate at least a game, and potentially more, without one of its top defenseman against a high-quality Hurricanes team.
It's painful for Sanderson, and it's painful for the entire Senators team.
