WTA Finals Day Four: Possible Scenarios

Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula are among the favourites to qualify for the semifinals. Since Sablenka secured a straight-sets victory over Paolini, another straight-sets win over Pegula will confirm her spot in the last four.

Meanwhile, Gauff and Paolini will compete in a do-or-die encounter in the upcoming round. The duo recently competed in the Wuhan Open semifinals, where the American came out on top.

Additionally, if Pegula manages to upset Sabalenka and Gauff wins her match against Paolini, the Belarusian will play a knockout match against Gauff for a spot in the last four.

To summarise this situation, if Paolini loses in straight sets, she will be eliminated from the WTA Finals. Any other results will keep the players' chances alive for the next set of rounds.

Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek are set to qualify from Group 1 in the WTA Finals

Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Madison Keys, and Amanda Anisimova are a part of Group One this year. Rybakina and Swiatek are in pole position to qualify for the next round.

After cruising past Keys in straight sets, Swiatek lost a close encounter against Rybakina. The Kazakh defeated her in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0.

Meanwhile, Ansimova began her campaign with a hard-fought loss against Rybakina and then defeated Keys in the next bout. A win against Swiatek would secure her place in the last four.

To summarise this situation, Rybakina has mostly qualified and Keys has been eliminated from the WTA Finals. Anisimova and Swiatek will face each other for a semifinal spot on Wednesday.
