Pete Davidson Breaks Silence on Becoming a Dad After Elsie Hewitt’s Pregnancy Reveal
Live from California, it’s Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s sweet date night.
Over a week after the model announced that she and the Saturday Night Live alum are expecting their first baby, the couple stepped out to celebrate the premiere of Pete’s upcoming film, The Pickup, in Los Angeles.
For the July 27 movie night, Elsie, 27, bared her baby bump a black dress while Pete, 31, kept it cool in a light brown Sergio Tacchini track suit and matching sunglasses. And as they posed for photos together, the duo—who debuted their romance in March—shared a kiss and held hands before Pete briefly rubbed the side of her stomach.
As the pair prepare for their new chapter together, the Bupkis actor expressed what it means to be starting his fatherhood journey.
“It’s been my dream since I was little, which is cool,” Pete told E! News’ Nikki Novak at the premiere. “When you have dreams when you're little and then you get older, sometimes those feelings change—that didn’t change for me. I’m mostly just excited. I don’t have time to think about myself as much anymore or be in my head. I just realized this is kind of just a job, and now I have something to do it for.”
Though he and Elsie “haven’t talked about” baby names just yet, he confirmed there’s one familiar moniker that’s not getting added to their list.
“I know my dad wanted to name my sister Harley for Harley Davidson, and that didn’t go well,” he teased before emphasizing, “It's not going to be Harley.”

Pete isn’t just leaning on his girlfriend to help him become a perfect dad. In fact, he’s had plenty of loved ones coaching him along the way, including fellow SNL alum Adam Sandler.
“Sandler gave me some great advice,” Pete told E! News at the July 22 premiere of The Home in New York. “Everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream. They all just have been like, ‘You’re going to be great at this. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do in your life.’”
