Sean McVay has already won a Super Bowl, coached one of the NFL’s most consistently successful teams and established himself as one of the league’s brightest offensive minds.
Now, the Los Angeles Rams coach can add another accomplishment to his résumé.
McVay was overwhelmingly selected as the NFL’s most attractive head coach in a new survey of more than 5,000 football fans. The result was not particularly close, either.
According to the complete survey released by Covers.com, McVay received 15.93 percent of the vote. Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur finished a distant second at 8.28 percent. McVay nearly doubled LaFleur’s total, but the Rams coach was not the only intriguing name near the top. Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald finished third, Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni landed fourth and Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid completed a top five that few fans would have predicted.

The survey asked 5,022 NFL fans to select the head coach they considered the league’s most attractive.
Here were the top 10 results:

Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers: 8.28 percent
Mike Macdonald, Seattle Seahawks: 6.49 percent
Nick Sirianni, Philadelphia Eagles: 5.85 percent
Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs: 5.81 percent
Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears: 5.46 percent
Mike Vrabel, New England Patriots: 5.46 percent
Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions: 5.18 percent
Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco 49ers: 4.98 percent
Dave Canales, Carolina Panthers: 2.63 percent
McVay did not simply benefit from loyal Rams supporters stuffing the ballot box.
Approximately 95 percent of his nearly 800 votes came from fans of other teams. Only 40 of his votes were cast by Rams fans, according to the survey. McVay was the top choice among supporters of 12 different teams. That group included fans of the Rams’ NFC West rivals, with 28 Seahawks supporters and 21 49ers supporters selecting him.
Apparently, divisional hatred has its limits.
LaFleur received considerably more hometown assistance. More than half of the Packers fans surveyed picked their own coach, accounting for 68 of his 208 total votes. Macdonald also had strong local support. More than 53 percent of participating Seahawks fans selected him, while former Baltimore Ravens supporters helped push their former defensive coordinator into third place.
Andy Reid receives support from across NFL
Reid finishing fifth might be the survey’s most entertaining result. The three-time Super Bowl champion received 5.81 percent of the vote, narrowly beating Johnson, Vrabel and Campbell. Covers credited Reid’s popularity to what it called “Big Santa Energy.”
Reid earned votes from fans representing 27 other teams. That widespread support proved especially important because only 28 percent of the Chiefs fans surveyed selected their own coach.
Even supporters of teams that Reid defeated on the NFL’s biggest stage showed him some love. Nineteen Eagles fans voted for their former coach despite Reid leading Kansas City past Philadelphia in Super Bowl LVII. He also received 18 votes from 49ers fans after beating San Francisco in Super Bowls LIV and LVIII.
Reid’s combination of success, stability and famously laid-back personality apparently carried significant weight. It also helped him finish only two votes behind Sirianni for fourth place. Vrabel gave Patriots fans another reason to celebrate by finishing seventh. The New England coach received 5.46 percent of the vote, tying Johnson but landing one spot behind the Bears coach in the final ranking.
New England also finished ninth in hometown loyalty, with 40.2 percent of Patriots fans choosing Vrabel.

Aaron Glenn finishes last in unusual NFL ranking
Someone had to occupy the bottom spot, and Jets coach Aaron Glenn received that unfortunate distinction. Glenn collected only 0.60 percent of the national vote, placing him 32nd. He earned 29 total votes, including support from just 11.6 percent of Jets fans who participated.
Todd Bowles of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 31st at 0.68 percent. Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak was 30th at 0.80 percent, while Cleveland Browns coach Todd Monken placed 29th at 0.84 percent.
The full Covers report and coach-by-coach results also revealed an interesting pattern involving hometown loyalty.
Approximately 29.3 percent of respondents selected the coach of their favorite team. Packers fans were the most loyal, with 54.4 percent choosing LaFleur, followed by Seahawks fans at 53.7 percent and Bears fans at 48.6 percent.
Cleveland finished last in that category, with only 9.1 percent of Browns fans voting for Monken. None of these results will help a team win the Super Bowl or survive a difficult fourth-down decision. They do, however, provide another unofficial title for McVay and proof that Reid’s appeal stretches far beyond Kansas City.
