Sean Brady recently shared his thoughts on the Leon Edwards vs. Carlos Prates welterweight fight at UFC 322 and explained how the Englishman could emerge victorious.
Edwards and Prates are set to throw down in a 170-pound clash at UFC 322 this weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City. While Prates is coming off an impressive first-round knockout win over Geoff Neal at UFC 319 in August, Edwards is coming off a fourth-round submission loss against Brady at UFC London in March. The Englishman is currently on a two-fight losing skid.
Ahead of the highly anticipated UFC 322 event, Brady broke down Edwards' path to victory against Prates during an episode of the BradyBagzShow podcast and said:
"I think if Leon's smart, he'll go out here and do mixed martial arts, mix it up. Obviously, Leon's a striker, but I think he has really good takedowns, too. He took down [Kamaru] Usman, he took down Colby [Covington]. He's taken down a good amount of people, so I think if he's smart, he'll mix it up, not just go out there and try to strike the entire time with Prates, because if you do that, you're giving Prates the opportunity to finish you, and we've seen how good he is on the feet."Get the latest updates on One Championship Rankings at Sportskeeda and more
He continued:
"Obviously, in the Ian Garry fight, Ian was able to take him down, and I think Leon can have the same path. I'm going to pick Leon, I do think he's going to win." [H/t: MMA Junkie]Watch the full episode below:
Belal Muhammad previews Leon Edwards vs. Carlos Prates fight at UFC 322
Belal Muhammad recently shared his thoughts on the Leon Edwards vs. Carlos Prates fight at UFC 322 and backed the Brazilian to emerge victorious. Muhammad explained why Prates had an advantage over Edwards, who was in a "tough spot" going into this bout.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Muhammad explained his take on the Edwards-Prates fight and said:
"Leon, coming off of two losses in a row, is in a very tough spot. You never want to be in a spot where you're on two losses in a row because we're going to see how bad he wants it. You don't get any easier fights when you're the champ."He continued:
"I'm picking Prates. I think he'll be able to use his length, he'll be able to use Leon going backwards, hurt him going backwards, and make him uncomfortable going backwards. So if I'm Prates, keep him on the fence, keep him going backwards, and I think you can win this fight." [H/t: MMA Junkie]Why did you not like this content?
