Seahawks undrafted free agents with best chance to make 53-man roster

The Seattle Seahawks underwent some big changes this offseason.

The team released veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett and traded away veteran quarterback Geno Smith and star wide receiver D.K. Metcalf. In return, the team added quarterback Sam Darnold and receivers Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Then, during the 2025 NFL Draft, the team added versatile offensive linemen Grey Zabel in the first round to help strengthen the weak unit. Talented pass-catcher Elijah Arroyo and developmental quarterback Jalen Milroe were just some of the team's other picks.

After the draft concluded, the Seahawks and all 31 other teams rushed to add the top undrafted players. The Seahawks added several of these players, and a few should have a good shot of making the 53-man roster.

Today, let's identify the three undrafted free agents with the best shot of making the team.

Jared Ivey, EDGE, Ole Miss

Jared Ivey is a talented pass-rusher who put up decent production at Ole Miss. Typically, productive SEC pass-rushers get drafted, but Ivey did not hear his name called.

In 2024, Ivey racked up 42 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and seven sacks in 12 games with the Rebels. The edge-rusher has decent size and solid speed off the edge and profiles as a capable rotational pass-rusher.

The Seahawks don't have the deepest group of pass-rushers, so Ivey could easily find himself on the final roster with a strong summer showing.

Federico Maranges, OL, FAU

Federico Maranges is a solid interior offensive lineman who produced at Florida Atlantic.

The lineman primarily played center and earned an 82.4 Pro Football Focus grade in 2024. That grade ranked 26th among all FBS centers, and Maranges held up well in both pass protection and as a run blocker.

The Seahawks have a weakness on the interior offensive line, and the team didn't draft a true center. This could bode well for Maranges, as the FAU product appears to be in a good position to at least land the backup center gig.

Zy Alexander, CB, LSU

Like Ivey, Zy Alexander is another defender who produced in the SEC.

Alexander starred for LSU and collected 33 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two interceptions in 2024. The corner earned a solid 81.2 Pro Football Focus grade in 2024 and has the chops to be solid on the boundary at the next level.

The Seahawks don't have a deep secondary, so it seems possible, if not likely, that Alexander will land a spot. If the defender contributes on special teams, he will definitely have a role.
