The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots, and subsequently lost a lot of talent in free agency.
Kenneth Walker III, their Super Bowl MVP, went to the Kansas City Chiefs. Riq Woolen joined the Philadelphia Eagles, and Boye Mafe went to the Cincinnati Bengals. Last, and certainly not least, Coby Bryant went to the Chicago Bears.
Mike Sando of The Athletic shared insight from an anonymous NFL executive that revealed the Seahawks true feelings on Bryant in free agency. As expected, Seattle wanted to bring him back.
Seahawks' true feelings on Coby Bryant revealed
"Seattle wanted to keep him," an NFL executive said about the Seahawks' interest in bringing Bryant back this offseason.
With the Bears swooping in and signing Bryant to a three-year, $40 million deal, the Seahawks missed out on bringing the star safety back.
But while Bryant left the Seahawks, that didn't mean Mike Macdonald and John Schneider didn't want to bring him back.

Bryant is a Super Bowl champion with the Seahawks forever, and he was a huge reason why Seattle's defense was so good the last two years.
Since emerging as a full-time starter at safety the last two years, Bryant has had seven interceptions in the regular season and played at a high level come the playoffs.
Bryant is a great pickup for the Bears, and would've been a fantastic re-signing for Seattle this offseason. Of the four players who departed, Bryant's departure might be the one that stings the most.
