The Seattle Seahawks’ standout rookie safety left Wednesday’s practice early with an ankle injury.
According to Seattle pool reporter Kalyn Kahler, Nick Emmanwori was limited in practice with the injury he suffered during practice.
Emmanwori injured his ankle while defending a pass late in practice. He walked off the field on his own shortly before 4 pm. Several players and coaches were seen going over to comfort him before he left.

“He had an ankle today, we brough him in to look at it, and we’ll kind of go from here and figure out what are the next steps?” Head coach Mike Macdonald said after practice.
Seattle plays the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 in less than four days.
Seattle practiced in pads for about an hour before taking them off for the second half of practice. It’s still too early to know if Emmanwori will be available for Super Bowl Sunday.

The second-round pick in 2025 out of South Carolina had an impressive rookie campaign for the league’s No. 1 defense. He recorded 81 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, 18 pressures and a forced incompletion rate of 12.5% His Pro Football Network impact grade of 80.2 was 20th among safeties.
The Seahawks also had other players limited at practice: Left tackle Charles Cross (foot), left tackle Josh Jones (ankle, knee), quarterback Sam Darnold (oblique) and fullback Robbie Ouzts (neck).
Some would say that in a season where injuries to some of league’s top players cut many NFL franchises’ Super Bowl hopes short, it’s only appropriate that injuries impact the big game, as well.
