The Seattle Seahawks are heading into Week 6 of the NFL season in 2026, and their running back room is a complete mess.

While Kenneth Walker III is thriving with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Seahawks have gotten poor production from their running back room. Zach Charbonnet is still out and will be for Week 6. Their other options have been mediocre at best.

ESPN's Ben Solak is questioning the plan at RB for the Seahawks this season, revealing concern about Seattle putting too much stock in the return of Charbonnet this season.

ESPN analyst questions Seahawks' RB plan with Zach Charbonnet

"I think ... the Seahawks have too many eggs in the Zach Charbonnet basket," Solak writes. "... It's hard for me to swallow the idea that Charbonnet is going to solve the running game's problems."

This Seahawks' run game is not nearly as good as it could be. Jadarian Price, meant to split the backfield work this season, is out due to injury at the moment and is on injured reserve.

Charbonnet is not coming back in Week 6, though a Week 7 return is on the table. What are their current options in the backfield? They're far from ideal.

Emmanuel Wilson has played relatively well the last few weeks, but he and George Holani both fumbled the ball against the San Francisco 49ers, highlighting the concern about the Seahawks' backfield.

Seattle could use a true bell-cow running back with how their shaky backfield is currently playing out. Unfortunately, even once Charbonnet returns, it's unlikely he'll be that for this team.

Charbonnet is coming off a serious ACL injury, and it's going to be hard to imagine him operating at full strength the moment he's back for the Seahawks.

Even if Price comes back as well, this Seahawks backfield might be a bit of a mess. It seems clear that this running back plan from the Seahawks isn't working out as they might've hoped.

Wilson, Holani, and Price haven't been horrible, but they're still very underwhelming, especially for a Super Bowl contender. Charbonnet also isn't likely to fix all of the issues with the running game, making the overall plan a questionable one at best.
