The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will debut their 90s-themed uniforms in Friday's game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. 

The inspiration behind the uniforms dates back to a time when pop culture and fashion were taking a trending turn. Bold colors and large graphics plaster the jersey with the intent of bringing the energy from the field to the stands. 

Shows like Friends, Boy Meets World, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air inspire the uniform concepts. Coastal hopes to pay homage to an inspirational time period. 

These uniforms look silly. Yes, they do remind people of the 90s but they are laughable. However, the inspiration for the uniforms comes from some timeless shows, so they get points for that.

If this were a fashion show for best-looking uniforms, Coastal is dead last.

Coastal is coming off a 27-21 victory over Marshall on Saturday. They are 2-4 and looking to get closer to .500. Hopefully, the bold and colorful uniforms will play a role in leading the Chanticleers to victory. 

Coastal Carolina and App State will kick off on Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
