Seahawks plan at running back is bad news for Jadarian Price

The Seattle Seahawks are heading into their 2026 training camp with a few interesting questions to resolve, most of which come on the offensive side of the ball.

New offensive coordinator Brian Fleury will be a topic of conversation, but the Seahawks will also have a few position groups that are worth paying close attention to. Of those positions, running back is the most interesting.

As ESPN's Brady Henderson highlighted, the Seahawks plan at the moment with their running back room does not bode well for Jadarian Price in his rookie year.

"The Seahawks are high on George Holani and, by all appearances, plan to give him a good chunk of the work alongside No. 32 overall pick Jadarian Price," Henderson writes.

This plan for the Seahawks, to utilize George Holani in an expanded role alongside Price, won't help the first-round rookie put together a strong debut season in the NFL.

Price was the backup for Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, and now, while he most likely won't be the backup, he's still seemingly going to split playing time with Holani.

With Charbonnet potentially coming back later in the season too, Price might not have much time, if any at all, as the featured back in this RB room.

He should see plenty of opportunity early in the season, but with the Seahawks being high on Holani and planning to involve him in the offense, Price might have a bit of a lackluster rookie season.

Of course, he could prove he deserves more work by thriving in training camp and preseason. But if Price doesn't thrive right away, Holani could take over a larger share of the backfield in 2026.

This running back plan for the Seahawks doesn't exactly bode well for Price, as he might not see as much work as Walker did when he was the lead back with Charbonnet out and Holani as the backup.
