Seahawks' Jalen Milroe learns from play style of shocking division rival QB

Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe has the potential to be one of the most exciting QBs in the NFL for the next decade.

The third-round pick throws an incredible deep ball and runs a 4.4-second 40-yard dash.

But there's something else about Milroe that is both confusing but also intriguing: He says he "studies and learns from" one particular quarterback, also in the NFC West.

It's not Kyler Murray, though, the other fastest QB in the division.

Milroe tabbed Brock Purdy as that quarterback inspiration in a recent interview with NFL Network.

Purdy has done incredibly well for himself in the NFL. He went from Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick in the 2022 draft, to a guy who will likely sign an extension worth more than $50 million per year.

Milroe is someone who a year ago may have been drafted higher but struggled just a bit in his final Alabama season.

His upside is immense, but teams clearly felt there was some risk involved, too.

It's cool to hear that Milroe might base parts of his games on a QB who by many expectations is an overachiever.

Milroe has all the physical tools, to an extent Purdy never will. If Milroe can get the other parts of his game, the more intangible parts, to match Purdy? He could be even more dangerous for the rest of the NFL, including his divisional foe 49ers, than even his biggest fans might expect.
