This offseason will be a big one for the Seattle Seahawks. While they're coming off the Super Bowl 60 victory, John Schneider and company don't want to stop there.
There are ways to improve the team, but before those moves are made, the Seahawks are going to have to make big decisions on their outgoing free agents.
One of those is linebacker Boye Mafe, and according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Seahawks are expected to let Mafe test the market in what could be the end of his Seahawks tenure.
Seahawks expected to let Boye Mafe test free agency
"He lacked production with just two sacks in 2025," Fowler writes, "but he has explosive traits at a premium position. Seattle faces tough decisions with him, Shaheed, and Bryant. My early sense is that Mafe will test the market, at which point anything is possible."
The Seahawks are expected to let Boye Mafe test free agency. The linebacker will surely draw interest, and could've played his last game as a Seahawk in Super Bowl 60. Not a bad way to go out for Mafe if he does leave.
But, as Fowler notes, "anything is possible" once Mafe tests the open market. That could mean that the 27-year-old pass rusher returns to Seattle.

The former 2022 second-round draft pick has been a success in Seattle. While this season, with just two sacks, 31 tackles, and the fewest defensive snaps played since his rookie season, wasn't ideal, he's still a solid player.
Across his four-years in the NFL, Mafe has 14 passes defended, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 20 sacks, 164 tackles, and 24 tackles for loss with 36 quarterback hits and 71 pressures.
The Seahawks outside linebacker will draw interest from teams in need of pass-rusher help this offseason as he's expected to test the market. He's clearly not their top priority, with Coby Bryant, Tariq Woolen, Shaheed, and Kenneth Walker all being bigger priorities.
