The Seattle Seahawks have some major decisions to make this offseason. Jaxon Smith-Njigba wants a record-setting contract extension, and Devon Witherspoon likely want's something similar. Seattle cannot let either walk in the future.
The Seahawks also have some big free agents to decide what to do with. Tariq Woolen, Coby Bryant, Rashid Shaheed, and Kenneth Walker are all free agents. They can't bring back all of them, and Walker, the Super Bowl MVP, might be the odd man out.
Heading into free agency, according to Tony Pauline of Essentiallysports.com, the Seahawks got a significant $11 million contract update on Walker. The star running back isn't going to be cheap, which could spell bad news for his odds to stay in Seattle.
Seahawks get $11 million contract update on Kenneth Walker
Pauline's report focused on Walker and another running back, New York Jets star Breece Hall. According to Pauline, "Both ball carriers are valued for contracts round $11 million annually."
Walker is coming off a great 2025 season, specifically in the postseason. He ran for 313 yards and four touchdowns on 65 attempts in the playoffs, all of which led the NFL this year.
Add on his nine receptions for 104 yards, and it was the best performance of any player in the 2025 NFL playoffs. He won Super Bowl MVP and was a huge reason for the Seahawks' Super Bowl 60 championship.

In his four-year NFL career with the Seahawks, he has 3,555 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on 821 attempts. He also has 1,005 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 133 receptions.
Walker is bound to receive significant interest in free agency this offseason, as the 25-year-old running back looks to be one of the best, most dynamic backs in the league.
Letting him walk, especially after winning Super Bowl MVP, would be a very controversial decision. This $11 million per-year contract update gives insight into how difficult it will be to retain Walker this offseason.
It's not going to be cheap, but if the Seahawks want to ensure a fan-favorite doesn't go anywhere, they might need to hand out a contract worth around $11 million per-year.
