Scottie Schefller is human after all.
The world No. 1 golfer unloaded on his caddie Ted Scott after his tee shot on the 16th hole ended up in the water at the Memorial Tournament.
“Absolutely flushed a seven iron and we get the wind wrong, and I’m in the water,” Scheffler vented in a moment caught on the Golf Channel broadcast. “I don’t think you know how frustrating that is.”
Scheffler struggled in the opening round of the tourney Thursday, ending the first day 1-over par after shooting a 73.

Scheffler was 2-under after the front nine but struggled coming home with two bogeys and a double on the 16th after going in the drink.
“I’m hitting good shots and now dropping from hazards. You cannot get the wind wrong,” Scheffler said.

Scott said on an episode of “Full Swing” that, when he was originally deciding to work with Scheffler, he told him, “I don’t know if I want to work for you because of your attitude.”
Scheffler said he would work on that, and the two of them have been partnered together since.
As a pair, Scheffler and Scott have won 19 Tour events, including four major championships and an Olympic gold medal in 2024.
“You know, the qualities you look for in a person, Ted embodies pretty much all of them,” Scheffler said in 2022. “He’s humble. He’s hard-working. He’s honest. He’s a good time to be around. He’s an amazing guy. To be able to have him on the bag is so special.”
