On Tuesday, October 21, LE SSERAFIM revealed more details about their upcoming single, SPAGHETTI, in collaboration with BTS' j-hope. In the recent post about the pre-save and pre-order links for the upcoming single album, fans were disappointed to notice that the album only had two new songs, SPAGHETTI and Pearlies (My oyster is the world), despite holding eight tracks in total.
Upon a closer look, fans realized that the six other songs on the album are different versions and remixes of the collaborative track with j-hope, SPAGHETTI. Additionally, the single album also comes in 20 different versions, differentiated by inclusions, concepts, and packaging. However, fans felt that the number of versions was unnecessary and skeptical.
They criticized HYBE Labels for allegedly using cheap tactics such as releasing multiple versions of the same album to make it chart. Netizens also stated that the number of versions communicated a sense of desperation from the agencies to make more profits out of the new comeback. Therefore, they also highlighted how it would negatively affect the K-pop girl group, LE SSERAFIM.
Fans stated that since the multiple versions indicate a desperation for topping music charts and bagging many album sales, they stated that it creates a bad picture for LE SSERAFIM and miscommunicates their intentions with the new comeback. Here are a few fan reactions to the multiple versions of SPAGHETTI, LE SSERAFIM's upcoming single in collaboration with BTS' j-hope:
"Omg bighit is scamming their fans" said a fanOmg bighit is scamming their fans
More fans and netizens reacted to the alleged tactics used by HYBE Labels to push the sales and charting of LE SSERAFIM and BTS' j-hope's latest collaboration, SPAGHETTI.
hybe is reaching new levels with this one
at some point yall should actually start trashing hybe because if i was anticipating a cb and the “album” was just 2 songs and 6 remixes of those songs i’d end up in the news
this is something a nugu company would pull for their girl group's only full album before disbandment btw
Streaming strategies are so hilarious sometimes like what am I even looking at
Others also shared their thoughts and opinions about the same.
why does this need 20 versions hybe is desperate for the payola
Need hybe to stop with unnecessary remixes and put more new songs in their artists albums
so it basically has two songs milked into 8
Oh hybe ur never beating the 100 versions allegations because how r u gonna say “album” and it’s just 2 songs….
