Savannah Guthrie is set to drop out of hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony for NBC as her mom, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing, Page Six can exclusively reveal.

The “Today” anchor, 54, was due to be in Italy for the start of the Games on Friday — where she was set to co-host the ceremony alongside Terry Gannon — but likely won’t be there, sources said.

Savannah was going to stay in Italy for a week to record “Today” alongside former co-host Hoda Kotb, who will be there for the duration of the Olympics.

“There is no way Savannah will be there,” an NBC source stated.

Page Six has reached out to Savannah’s rep and NBC Sports for comment.

Three-time snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White was expected to join Savannah and sports commentator Gannon in the broadcast booth.

This year’s Olympics is taking taking place Feb. 6 to Feb. 22 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Coverage is airing on NBC and streaming on Peacock.

The gig would’ve marked Savannah’s fourth time hosting an Olympic opening ceremony, having done so previously for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to host the Opening Ceremony alongside the incomparable Terry Gannon and snowboarding legend Shaun White,” Savannah said in a statement when her 2026 Winter Olympics coverage job was announced in Sept. 2025. “It’s such an honor to celebrate the world’s best athletes and introduce the magic and wonder of the Winter Games and northern Italy to viewers at home.”

Nancy, 84, was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at her residence in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson and was reported missing by her family late Sunday morning.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed at a press conference Monday that Nancy’s disappearance is being treated as a crime.

“We believe now, after we process that crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime scene, that we do, in fact, have a crime and we’re asking the community’s help,” Nanos explained, insisting that Nancy “did not leave on her own.”

According to police, a church-goer had first called the family to say Nancy hadn’t shown up for services Sunday morning, and worried relatives phoned the cops. Her family had dropped her off at her million-dollar home just after 9:30 the night before.

Nanos said that Nancy “is not of good physical health,” but she “has no cognitive issues at all” and is “of good sound mind.”

Authorities have Nancy’s cell phone and they are planning to analyze it for any leads, Nanos shared, as he pleaded for the public to aid them in the search.

Savannah skipped Monday’s episode of “Today” but shared a statement with her co-hosts that read, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.”

“We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900,” the statement added.

Savannah’s fellow “Today” host Jenna Bush Hager also revealed that Nancy “takes daily medication” that she needs “for survival,” and is likely “without her medication.’’

Savannah, who has always had a close bond with her mom, is the youngest of Nancy’s three children with husband Charles Guthrie. Savannah was in high school when her dad died suddenly of a heart attack.
