Sami Zayn has named his favorite match of 2025. The SmackDown star's booking was a mixed bag with a mid-year move to the blue brand. He wrestled several high-profile names in various matches and had a strong showing in the mid card.

During this run, Zayn also won the U.S. championship from Solo Sikoa and then put the title on the line every week to have a bunch of exciting matches.

Taking to X (Twitter), Zayn posted a thread of his favorite TV matches from 2025. It included his bouts against John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, and a few other names. However, later he shared what was his best match overall in the previous year.

He shared the promotional poster for his Elimination Chamber match against Kevin Owens from February.

"Not a TV match, but this one was my favorite all year," he wrote.

Sami Zayn and Owens wrestled in an Unsanctioned Match at the premium live event in Toronto, Canada. The two real-life friends fought all over the arena, using various weapons.

The match ended with KO hitting Zayn with multiple apron Powerbombs to win the match. Notably, Owens was dealing with a neck injury during the match and has been on the shelf since then.

Sami Zayn criticized for his physique

Sami Zayn has been a popular figure among fans for years. The Underdog from the Underground has gained a lot of support from fans due to his in-ring work.

However, the former WWE writer is not a fan of the former U.S. champion. Speaking on Vince Russo's The Brand podcast, he brought up the segment from SmackDown featuring Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, and GM Nick Aldis.

Analyzing the segment, Russo said he was impressed with Aldis' physique and threw shade at Zayn. He said someone well built like Aldis is an authority figure while Zayn is wrestling in the ring.
