The Triple H era in WWE has generally been a masterclass in long-term storytelling, but fans believe that even the best bookers have an off year.
With the onset of 2026, the WWE Universe is looking back at the year gone by. Despite its success on Netflix, many feel it missed out on several major opportunities.
That said, if The Game wants to maintain WWE's red-hot momentum, here are four critical mistakes from 2025 that he must avoid repeating this year:
#4. Keeping The Usos as singles stars for too long
While Jey Uso’s solo run was a merchandise-moving machine in 2025, keeping the twins apart for most of the year was seemingly a double-edged sword. Jey found success, but the tag team division on the red brand felt like it was treading shallow waters without its cornerstone duo.
Triple H finally pulled the trigger on a full-time reunion, and then on the December 29, 2025, episode of RAW, The Usos captured the World Tag Team Titles from AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. However, the delay meant months of a depleted tag team scene on RAW.
Fans suggest that in 2026, The Game must realize that while The Yeet Master is a star, the division is always healthier when the greatest team of this generation is leading the pack.
#3. Lack of prestige for the US Titles
The latter part of 2024 saw the historic introduction of the Women’s United States Championship, with Chelsea Green becoming the inaugural winner. However, even after seeing a whole year of action in 2025, the title appears to still lack prestige.
In fact, the booking of both the Men's and Women's US Titles has lacked the prestige that the Intercontinental Title possesses on RAW. Be it the men's title currently held by Dominik Mysterio or with Becky Lynch's recent reign of 163 days with the Women's IC Title.
Many believe that the frequent title changes between Green, Zelina Vega, and Giulia prevented the belt from feeling prestigious. Although the men's champions like Ilja Dragunov and Sami Zayn had talent-filled matches, their reigns lacked the high-stakes feuds needed to elevate the gold.
Therefore, fans suggest that in 2026, Triple H needs to establish these titles with dominant, 100-plus-day reigns and be properly represented at PLEs.
#2. Neglecting character depth for the women’s midcard
WWE’s women's roster is arguably the most talented it has ever been, but 2025 saw a top-heavy booking style. While the main event stars thrived, midcarders like Ivy Nile, Kiana James, and even international sensations like Giulia often lacked consistent TV time and meaningful character arcs.
Many believe that giving these women cold matches without vignettes or mic time makes it hard for the audience to invest in their storylines. To avoid a stagnant division in 2026, Triple H may need to treat the women’s midcard with the same narrative care he gives to The Judgment Day or The Vision.
#1. Triple H should have pushed LA Knight and Drew McIntyre when the time was right
The biggest criticism of 2025 was that the 'slow burn' was too slow. Both LA Knight and Drew McIntyre reached white-hot status early in the year, with fans clamoring for World Title wins. Instead, Triple H opted for safe, long-term plays that cooled their momentum.
It appears that Knight spent much of last year in limbo-feuds like the one with Shinsuke Nakamura, despite being one of the most over stars on the blue brand at the time. As for McIntyre, his Scottish Warrior heel run was legendary, but many felt he should have been the one to dethrone the champions at the peak of his 2025 run.
Fans suggest that in 2026, Triple H must learn that sometimes you have to tear up the 12-month plan and push the button when a superstar becomes too big to ignore.
