Sami Zayn gets poetic championship moment at Night of Champions that helps WWE check key SummSlam box

WWE too often takes the safe route, but man, when they decide to take a big swing, it can become something very special.

It was clear Sami Zayn, 41, had a chance to win the Undisputed WWE championship for his first career world title if you followed this story beat by beat and given the venue for the match.  That doesn’t mean WWE is going to give it to you. 

They did, and it was spectacular. 

Even as a bit of an annoying heel, Zayn is still the ultimate underdog. Seeing him shut the condescending Cody Rhodes and Gunther up with a simple roll-up counter of a Cross Rhodes to pin the champ was simply poetic and heartwarming.
