Records continue to tumble as Sam Fender & Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” earns a 15th week at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart (July 2).

With its 15th non-consecutive week at the summit, it enters a tie for the longest-running No. 1 by a British artist with Wet Wet Wet’s “Love Is All Around,” which achieved the run in 1995.

“Rein Me In” now trails just two songs on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart all-time list: Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” (16 weeks) and Frankie Laine’s “I Believe in Love” (18 weeks).

It caps off a remarkable run for the song, which first hit the top spot in February. The track was first issued in February 2025 on Fender’s Mercury Prize-winning People Watching LP, with a new version starring Dean being released in June that year. “Rein Me In” won song of the year at the 2026 BRIT Awards and is Fender’s first chart-topper and Dean’s second (following “Man I Need”).

In recent weeks it has surpassed Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” as the longest-running No. 1 of the 2020s so far, and is now tied with Drake’s 2015 hit “One Dance” (15 weeks) as the longest-running chart-topper of the 21st century.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Stupid Song” holds firm at No. 2, and she has two additional entries in the top five with “The Cure” at No. 4 and “Drop Dead” at No. 5. Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” completes the top five at No. 3.

Prospa and Clonee’s “Free Your Mind” is up into the top 10 for the first time (No. 10), while World Cup fever propels “Dai Dai” from Shakira and Burna Boy up the rankings (No. 17).
