Muse Soar to No. 1 on U.K.’s Albums Chart with ‘The Wow! Signal’

Muse’s The Wow! Signal has earned the Devon-formers rockers their eighth No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart (July 3).

Their 10th studio album now follows Absolution (2004), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009), The 2nd Law (2012), Drones (2015), Simulation Theory (2018) and Will of the People (2022) as chart-topping LPs in the U.K.

The three-piece, featuring Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme, are now level with Oasis, The Killers and Led Zeppelin on the all-time list, all of whom have eight each. They kicked off their latest global tour on Thursday (July 2) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are set to play a run of arenas in the U.K. and Europe later this year.

Olivia Rodrigo holds position at No. 2 with you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, while Michael Jackson’s The Essential compilation keeps its spot at No. 3.

As his Wembley Stadium run comes to a close this weekend, Harry StylesKiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally finishes the week at No. 4. Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving ranks at No. 5, and The Pretty Reckless’ Dear God lands at No. 4, becoming their highest-charting LP to date; the band has hit the top 10 three times previously.

Katy Perry’s The One That Got the Plays compilation lands inside the top 10 to give the pop star her sixth overall (No. 10), while Bad Bunny’s shows at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadiums propel DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS  back up the rankings to No. 28.

Metallica’s 1997 album Reload is back inside the top 40 for the first time in three decades as a new box set reissue sends the release to No. 39.
