Saints urged to fire Kellen Moore if not handling Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders' personality was the reason for spurning QB

The Saints made the most unpopular pick in the 2025 NFL draft when they took Louisville’s Tyler Shough with the No. 40 selection. It’s being speculated that head coach Kellen Moore might’ve taken Shough and passed on Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders because he “couldn’t handle his personality.”

If that’s true, ESPN’s Ryan Clark believes New Orleans should fire Moore for not being able to coach according to his personnel.

“The Saints just drafted Tyler Shough. He can absolutely spin it. He could be big time, but Dan Orlovsky asked a question that alluded to a reason the Saints & Moore wouldn’t pick Shedeur,” Clark wrote.

“What if Kellen Moore couldn’t handle Shedeur Sanders Personality?

“My answer is simple… Then he shouldn’t be a head coach!”

Former ESPN host Skip Bayless claimed it was “the most stunning and disgusting development in NFL draft history.”

“WHAT IS HAPPENING TO SHEDEUR SANDERS IS THE MOST STUNNING AND DISGUSTING DEVELOPMENT IN NFL DRAFT HISTORY. HE SHOULD'VE GONE 1ST OVERALL. MEL KIPER RANKED HIM 5TH, ABOVE CAM WARD AT 6TH,” Bayless tweeted.

The Saints were the betting favorite to draft the “Grown QB” until right before the beginning of the first round. The Steelers became the favorite, then drafted Oregon DT Derrick Harmon with their No. 21 pick.

Shedeur didn’t get taken on the first night, shattering Deion Sanders’ idea of his son’s NFL future.

Clearly, teams are not willing to throw their coach under the bus and invite rumors of Coach Prime taking over for Shedeur’s first pro coach.
