Saints rookie WR not named Jordyn Tyson predicted to have 'massive impact' in 2026

The New Orleans Saints came into the NFL offseason with a clear need for wide receiver help. While they didn't add anyone of note in free agency, they did splurge in the NFL Draft.

Jordyn Tyson was their first-round pick at No. 8 overall, and along with Chris Olave, that new WR duo should be just what Tyler Shough needs to make the next step as a quarterback.

However, Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski is predicting that a different rookie WR than Tyson will have a "massive impact" on the Saints offense in2 026. That rookie is the brother of Trey Lance and fourth-round pick Bryce Lance.

Saints' Bryce Lance predicted to have 'massive impact' on 2026 offense

"Bryce Lance has the physical ability and potential opportunity to become a significant contributor sooner rather than later," Sobleski writes.

If the Saints were able to get great production from Lance, their fourth-round pick at No. 136 overall, it would be a great sign for not just the offense and Shough but especially for Lance.

However, in predicting that Lance would be a positive contributor for the Saints in 2026, Sobleski paired it with a negative: "The odds are Lance is going to be on the field filling in for one of the Saints' top targets at some point, and he can then be highlighted."

Even though the Saints getting a productive rookie year from Lance would be a good thing, if it coincided with Olave and Tyson getting hurt, it would be far from ideal.

Both top receivers for the Saints have some injury question marks, so it wouldn't be a total surprise if they missed a game or two in 2026.

However, to predict that Lance will break out as a rookie, thanks in part to an injury to Tyson or Olave, would not be an ideal way for the North Dakota State rookie to break out.

Ideally, Tyson and Olave are an elite one-two punch, while Lance could factor in as a downfield threat who could take on a similar role to what Rashid Shaheed had for the Saints the last few years.

Lance making a "massive impact" as a rookie, as Sobleski predicts, would be incredible for the Saints, but only as long as it doesn't come at the expense of Olave or Tyson.
