Saints' Cameron Jordan receives good omen amid ESPN Hall of Fame projection

The New Orleans Saints might not have their best team put together at the moment, but this is a young roster that's on the rise. There are still veterans, like Cameron Jordan, helping out as well.

Speaking of Jordan, the franchise legend is back for one more season, and he's got a real chance to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But, where does he stand right now?

ESPN's Bill Barnwell projects that Jordan is "on the cusp" of making the Hall of Fame, and just one more solid season in 2026 would likely have him en route to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

"On the cusp: Cameron Jordan," Barnwell writes. "I could see an argument that Jordan has already done enough to get in after a 10.5-sack season in 2025, and even a six-sack season in 2026 would surely be enough to get him over the hump."

Barnwell believes that Jordan does have a real case to be a Hall of Famer already, but one more decent season at 37 years old would cement his status as a Hall of Famer.

He did go on to note that he could see Jordan making it into the Hall of Fame with his current statistics, but it might not be a quick induction if he doesn't have one more strong season.

But, looking at his full body of work, it's hard not to believe that he's got a real chance to make the Hall of Fame five years after he decides to retire.

Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler, one-time first-team All-Pro, on the Hall of Fame All-2010's team, and in 15 seasons and 243 games played, has amassed 67 passes defended, 17 forced fumbles, 132 sacks, 763 tackles, 175 tackles for loss, and 248 QB hits.

He's been one of the more impressive defensive linemen in recent NFL history, and while he doesn't have the same superstar ceiling as Myles Garret, Micah Parsons, or even the all-time accolades like Khalil Mack, Jordan is deserving of a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Barnwell projects Jordan to be on the cusp of enshrinement, and while it might not happen in his first year of eligibility, Jordan will have a really good chance to make it in when it's all said and done.
