Saints’ Alvin Kamara goes viral for shocking $80 million decision about his NFL contracts

4 hours ago 1

This news first emerged in 2021. That's when Alvin Kamara admitted publicly that he doesn't spend any of his NFL salary.

The New Orleans Saints running back, in his day-to-day life, spends just the earnings from his endorsement deals. The rest goes into savings.

This week, that fact has gone viral on a number of different NFL social media accounts. It's not clear that Kamara has said anything new or contrary to this fact, but it's still a remarkable one to think about.

By the end of Kamara's current contract, he will have made $79.33 million in salary in his NFL career.

If he truly hasn't spent a penny of that money specifically, that's quite the savings account.

Kamara has been worth it for the Saints, too, after they chose him 67th overall in 2017.

He has 6,779 career rushing yards with 60 TDs and another 4,762 receiving yards with 25 TDs.

He'll turn 30 on July 25, so the end of his career is almost certainly closer than the start.

But the good news for Kamara is that it sounds like he has a heck of a lot of money waiting for him to support him and his family for a long, long time.
