‘Sad’ Kelly Osbourne speaks out against mom Sharon’s conservative views: ‘It’s really hard’

Kelly Osbourne described how “hard” it is to disagree with her mom Sharon Osbourne’s political beliefs in a new interview.

The 41-year-old was asked about her mother’s “far-right” views — specifically Sharon’s support for anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson’s “Unite the Kingdom” march — at the National Television Awards 2026 red carpet on Tuesday.

“I don’t agree,” Kelly clarified to Attitude Magazine. “I don’t agree with my mum, no. That’s one thing that I can say that I don’t agree with her on.”

The “Osbournes” alum added, “It’s hard because I love my mum. … It’s really hard when it comes to politics and things like that, but that’s not for me.”

She noted that Sharon, 73, is “entitled to her own opinions.”

Sharon’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The former “X Factor” judge made headlines in April for writing via Instagram that she planned to attend Robinson’s event, commenting on one of his posts, “See you at the march.”

She was subsequently dropped by the Centrepoint charity for unhoused people, with the organization insisting they had “no plans to work together in the future.”

During Tuesday’s red carpet interview, Kelly was also asked, “Have you spoken [to Sharon] about her views on LGBT+ rights at all?”

Kelly replied that she was “always of the understanding that [her] mom was, like, of the same opinion” — and said she was “sad” to find out her parent had said “certain things … that may not align with the trans community in particular.”

Sharon, notably, expressed a desire for age limits for decisions on gender-affirming care in 2024 and has spoken out against transgender women competing against cisgender women in female sports.

“I don’t know if my mom knows enough trans people to make a fair judgment or anything to do with that sort of thing,” Kelly told the outlet. “Whereas for me, that is my world. And to be born in a body that doesn’t belong to you, I couldn’t imagine anything worse.”

She agreed that Sharon’s comments “definitely” could come from “a lack of education,” saying, “When I sit down, and if I ever have a conversation with my mom about stuff like this, she gets it.”

Kelly explained, “I think that, honestly, it is just a misunderstanding. It’s not like, [she’s] in any way against, if you know what I’m saying.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Kelly raved over the LGBTQ+ community, gushing, “I wouldn’t be me without them. They’re the only community that has always accepted me no matter what. They taught me how to be myself, fearless, and to truly believe that I can be whatever I want to be.”

She credited queer people with bringing “every ounce of creativity and beauty in this world,” noting, “It was the drag queens that taught me how to do makeup. It was the trans community that taught me about bravery. It was ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ that taught me how to stand like a lady.”
