Russell Wilson won't like Giants starting QB prediction from NFL analyst

The Cleveland Browns quarterback battle is at the front and center of headlines, and rightfully so. However, another one that could be worth monitoring is with the New York Giants

The Giants brought in veterans Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, kept Tommy DeVito, and then traded up at the end of the first round to select Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.

The Giants signed Wilson to a one-year deal worth $21 million with $10.5 million guaranteed, which screams starting quarterback money.

However, that might not be the case. ESPN NFL insider Mike Clay dropped his roster projections, and it wasn't Wilson on top of the depth chart. It was Dart.

  1. Jaxson Dart
  2. Russell Wilson
  3. Jameis Winston

In this one, Clay had Dart playing nine games and Wilson seven, so maybe Wilson starts the year as the starter and then the Giants turn to Dart, or vice versa.

Still, Dart is projected for 10 passing touchdowns while Wilson and Winston are projected to throw for nine combined, so it is a sizable jump for the rookie signal-caller.

Dart began his college career at USC before playing at Ole Miss for Lane Kiffin, and he jumped up draft boards during the months leading up to the NFL Draft.

Now, there is a chance Dart takes hold of the job in New York, and Brian Daboll has a lot of pressure on him after the failed Daniel Jones experiment.
