Russell Brand’s legal woes continue.

After being charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault earlier this year—all of which the comedian has pled not guilty to—the 50-year-old was hit with additional charges after two new female accusers came forward.

Brand was charged with one further count of rape and one further count of sexual assault related to the two women, London’s Metropolitan Police department confirmed in a Dec. 23 press release. He is due to face the charges in a London court on Jan. 20, 2026.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) Dec. 23, the Get Him to the Greek actor—who shares three kids with wife Laura Brand—did not address the matter directly, though he urged those watching “to understand the truth of my situation and scenario.”

“I pray Lord, anyone that I’ve harmed or hurt in my years of mindlessness and sin would be healed, Lord,” he said in the clip. “And I pray, Lord, for the absolute truth of who I am to be abundantly revealed.”

E! News has reached out to Brand’s rep for comment but has not heard back.

In April, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was charged with one count of rape, one count of oral rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault, all stemming for events that took place between 1999 and 2005. Detectives initially began looking into the alleged crimes in September 2023 following investigations conducted by Channel 4 and The Sunday Times, which led them to receive “a number of allegations,” police said in a press release in April.

Brand swiftly denied the accusations on social media, saying in a video on X at the time, “I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was was a rapist.”

One month later, Brand formally pled not guilty to the original five charges, at which point a judge continued his conditional bail. That case is set to go to trial in June.
