Rose City Comic Con, in partnership with ComicsPRO, is excited to introduce Retailer Day, a new, exclusive event designed specifically for comic retailers to network with publishers, distributors, and key industry figures. The event will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Oregon Convention Center, and will feature a comprehensive lineup of programming tailored to explore the future of comics retail.
Managed by LeftField Media, Rose City Comic Con, or RCCC, is the largest and most vibrant pop culture event in Portland, Oregon, bringing together more than 60,000 enthusiastic fans. True to Portland’s distinctive character, this convention embraces its wonderfully quirky, highly creative, and inclusively diverse spirit. Each year, highlights include Rose City Jr. designed for families, the enchanting Book Fair, the cosplay paradise of Destination Cosplay, the anime hub of Anime Yokocho, and Creator Pro for both industry veterans and budding talent.
RCCC, via a press release, described the inaugural Retailer Day as:
The inaugural Retailer Day is an industry-exclusive event offering publisher presentations, early title announcements, networking opportunities, private signings, and more. Designed to build deeper relationships between publishers and retailers, the event allows store owners and staff to gain early insights, explore upcoming product lines, and strengthen the business of comics together.
“Retailers are the heartbeat of the comic book industry, and we’re thrilled to create a space just for them at Rose City Comic Con,” commented Lauren Dabb, Event Director of RCCC. “Retailer Day is designed to be informational and inspiring. From early title reveals to one-on-one connections, it is an opportunity for store owners to engage directly with the people creating the stories their customers love.”
Likewise, Shannon Live, Vice President and Director of Education of ComicsPRO, said, “Being the only trade organization for comic retailers, ComicsPRO is really looking to build opportunities for shop owners and their teams to get first-hand experience and knowledge. The chance to team up with such a great convention as RCCC and build something that can give retailers a chance to foster connections, explore new ways to do things in their stores, and hear from industry professionals about a variety of experiences was an easy choice for us. We’re really looking forward to kicking off this inaugural year with a bang and hoping retailers and publishers will join us.”
